As a graphic designer I'm most interested in the real thoughts of photographers that can be conveyed through self-portraits, rather than just a pretty picture. That's why I try to support such initiatives and events.

Exploring touchdesigner tools, I made one of my "selfies" there... And then I catch a thought that a machine sees and understands me better than I did that time. It made me feel strange to realize, and yet it broadens the limits of possible.

  1. the post-processing step here is reminiscent of the results of slit-scan camera work and like that technique seems to move the stationary image into a time dependent space

  2. I am intrigued at your observation that "a machine sees and understands me better than I did that time" and would like to know what gave rise to that thought? There must have been some aspect of that selfie that gave you a hitherto unseen revelation.

    1. Hello Fiona! I had a huge anxiety problem at the time, and a lot of creative assignments at university. And i was greatly relieved to find this tool in touchdesigner that basically explained what i should do and what problem to explore in my creative journey. it was a broad concept of noise that i still work with to this day. hope i interpreted your question correctly
